2008 Fees

FEES (per team)

HWSA Membership Fee = $350.00 per year
Regional Tournament Registration Fee = $425.00 (game balls included in fee)
World Series Registration Fee = $575.00 (game balls included in fee)

World Series Housing Deposit = $500 (refundable if team uses HWSA hotels)

HWSA All-Star Team Deposit Fee = $100.00 (refundable if player does not make the team)

*The HWSA All-Star Team will play in a Showcase Tournament in Florida in Summer 2008.

*Tryouts for the HWSA All-Star Team take place at the Regional Qualifying Tournament location.

What is the purpose of the HWSA Membership Fee?

Grants my team League Membership
Allows my team participation in any HWSA-sponsored tournament (including the World Series)
Guarantees my team a spot in the HWSA regional qualifying tournament for the following year
Insures my team during any HWSA-sponsored tournament (including the World Series)
Offsets administrative costs (i.e., copies, postage, supplies, part-time paid staff)
Provides my team with the option of purchasing Secondary Insurance coverage through HWSA
Contributes to 501 (c) (3) Incorporation costs

What does the Regional Tournament Fee cover?

Only Regional Tournament participants incur this fee.
Field/Facility Rentals
Maintenance of fields
Umpire salaries
Game balls with HWSA insignia
Administrative costs (i.e., copies, postage, supplies)

What does the World Series Fee cover?

Only World Series qualifiers incur this fee.

What is the purpose of the World Series Housing Deposit?

Only World Series qualifiers incur this refundable deposit.
The full amount is refunded to each team after the World Series tournament provided that the team uses at least eight (8) HWSA-provided group-rate hotel rooms.
Through high-volume room purchases, HWSA can acquire "comp" rooms to keep World Series costs down.
This deposit guarantees that HWSA can financially provide hotel rooms to out-of-town workers to the World Series.

*HWSA purchases 18 player awards plus 3 coach awards for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place teams in the Gold Division and the 1st place team in the Silver Division. No re-orders are made.
